Just to be clear, this is a FAKE e-commerce site, developed in Larry Ullman's book Effortless E-Commerce with PHP and MySQL. This site does not actually sell anything and does not charge anyone any money. You can find the code for this site at the book's corresponding Web page.
The SSL certificate I had purchased for the first year of having this site up has since expired. Rather than spend $200/year just to use SSL on a couple of pages in a fake e-commerce site, I've swapped HTTPS for HTTP accordingly. Understand that in the book and in your own sites, you would use SSL for the checkout process.
